I am not convinced that the data is of much value. Warranty direct - as far as I know - provide limited warranties to car owners whose cars are no longer covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
In essence - private owners with older cars - a lot older in the case of Hyundai or KIA who have 5 and 7 year warranties.
Having said that - why should we be surprised that the ongoing complication in car electronics should not be reflected in higher warranty claims for this element. In the old days your carburettor got grump and it was a mechanical claim - now it's the complex electronically controlled fuel injection and it becomes reported as electronic.
Cars used to have hand cranked windows and manually adjusted rear view mirrors - now they are motorised. The list goes on....................
