Hi Lakes, google maps is good for finding routes, distances and times.

Go here
then click on the "get directions" button, type in the place you want to start
from and the place you want to go to and it will do the rest.

thanks Russ
I just checked, that will be 1,033k to where i'm going from home. it will be a twisty hilly road but more interesting than the freeway from Syd to MELB will do it on one tank see what i average. i'll fill up with Caltex Vortex Premium Diesel as now i have tried the lot i feel motor runs much better on the Vortex.
