Have a i30se 09 reg which. I have had few 2 years . I have recently realised the light doesn't come on in the boot. I removed the light section there was a bulb but not wires attached to it. I'm no expert with cars and electrics but I assume there should be a wires attached to make it work, I have tried putting a new bulb in but that didn't make it come on when the boot was opened. Is there a switch or something simple I'm missing. Or have they just installed a light with bulb and then forgot to add some wires. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well there sure should be wires attached, via a connector block.

I'm guessing that block has dropped down behind the sidewall.

Yes shambles is right in that the lamp holder has 2 connectors which push into a plug.

Wonder if it had not been push through a smallish hole.

Will need to remove panel to get to wire unlessyou can try and see through the hole, use a small tourch to
Iight up, and if you can see plug use a piece of wire to fish out.

Just be aware that some previous owner or dodgy mechanic may have disconnected it as a "fix" for a short somewhere.
