The Original i30 Owners Club

Dave may want this. I'd want it pristine for that money!

A friend of mine owns # 058, which is probably the one I'd like to buy because 1958 was an exceptionally good year.
Plus, my friend's car is pristine (just like me).

I actually have a wide taste and don't restrict myself to one marque.
But I do like it.  :goodjob2:

Leyland never made a ute but there have been a few after-market examples produced over the years, some good, some not so good.
They have included well-bodies and traybacks.
A station wagon was designed and produced by Leyland but never went into production and a two door coupe was also produced and ten known examples exist today.
I have never seen a Leyland P76 panel van though........

I agree with the topic though...

I mean some cars, that could be considered iconic due to "who drove"/"or what they were", that were actually used in a movie (occasionally models used in promotion of still shots, etc.) in near pristine condition have gone for less.   Of course sometimes it comes down to how common the vehicle make/model (still is) and how exactly the specific specimen was used in the movie - long shots only? interior shots only? promotional? stunt 'double' vehicle (e.g. roll cage fitted during the filming - so isn't the 'one' on screen most of the time, etc.)?

Genuine Cobras are sought after in Australia.
They were originally introduced to get rid of left-over 2 door hardtop bodies at Ford's Geelong factory in Australia.
But they soon became a very sought after part of Ford Australia history.

Okie dokie then!  Mint over $100K - interesting.

I wouldn't be paying that for them - not unless I win big in lotto or figure out how to make my millions.

When I was younger I was a Holden fan, and wouldn't think of owning a Ford.  However, now that I have matured (finally) I appreciate a nice car, particularly one that has some heritage or historical significance.  Think of Mustangs, XY GT, Chargers, Torana (LJ XU1 and A9X).

If I had the money, I would definitely be interested in a car like this!!

I'm not marque-specific either.
A nice car is a nice car, regardless of the badge.

I'm not really an old car fan...  :undecided:

I haven't forgotten that they needed servicing much more often than modern cars, they were usually less reliable, handling was pretty ordinary and they lacked protection in a crash...

I love the old and classic cars, any of the old Aussie muscle cars are great, servicing wasn't much different...usually every 5 or 10k oil changes depending on how you looked after them.

Servicing is far less expensive too and can mostly be done at home, handling and brakes aren't an issue as once the originals were worn out they were replaced with superior products, MSD and Flame Thrower electronic ignitions eliminated point/distributor issues and plug design/reliability have improved and even old cars can now run platinums.
