Hello can anyone please help.
Have bought a bran new Hyundai Active x car this year 2016 2 months ago.
I can make a call while parking on the side of the road, but the svoice button wont work so i cant use it while driving.
Hyundai 2 hour drive away for me, installed a software update in my car, but i still can not use my Samsung 6 Android phone using the svoice button.
I rang Hyundai and said i still cant use the svoice button, they said i should do a software update on my phone.
I did that and the svoice is now showing up on my phone, but i still cant use it, it just says not listening.
People can ring me while i am driving and that part works good, but i should not have to park on the side of the road to ring up.
Regards joybells. :crazy2:

Well seeing as i have had no other comments so far about my voice issue in my car, then i can only assume that its a hyundai fault.
Just wish i had never bought this car, and i will never buy another hyundai ever again.

Those statements are not particularly helpful.

I can't answer your question as my car doesn't have your capability, but I sure wouldn't want to sell my car either.

If your car is so bad, what would you replace it with?

Simply go to a dealer and discuss the problem with a sales rep, then enjoy the car.

The same as Phil I did not answer as I neither have the same car nor do I have that phone....

I could splash a guess that it might be some safety feature which, like my sat nav) doesn't allow using buttons whilst the car in motion (health and safety).

But when I researched it on GOOGLE (yes I did some research for you) it seems that it should work.

So I cannot assist you...  if as a result of this you wish to trash the car and get rid (and can afford such luxuries) then that is what you must do

That's an incorrect assumption, sorry to say.

The number of comments received here (or lack thereof) should bear no relation to the issue(s) you have.

We're all volunteers here and cannot all be "here when you want us to be" given we're spread across the globe.

Does it detail how voice actication works in the handbook provided?

If it is not working as detailed and the car is only a few months old then i would suggest you contact the selling dealer to discuss as you have done what they suggested, software update on your phone.

Ok a 2 hour drive but is there a dealer nearer you can contact

Have you tried another phone?

Also, have you confirmed the phone is compatable as i'm sure there was a posting sometime ago were a particular model wasn't compatable but not sure the exact issue.

Wow! I'm glad all our new members/owners don't spit the dummy if forum members can't resolve relatively minor issues in the wink of an eye! Most of us Hyundai owners are very happy with our i30's and other models and consider them to be better overall than most other makes and models in their class and price range.

All I could suggest is deleting your phone from the cars audio system then re-sync the Bluetooth, as you've updated the phone settings might have changed :undecided: if that doesn't help then as others have mentioned you'll need to get it into Hyundai to be looked at.

I'm still not exactly sure what the voice function is  is it a wireless feature or plugged in feature? if it's used with the phone plugged in then Bluetooth may have to be disabled :undecided:

From my very limited knowledge of Android and Samsung I am going to make the following assumptions.

1.  When you say SVoice I assume you mean the Samsung equivalent of Siri or Cortana?  In which case I would be very surprised if you can find any car system which will use the Samsung only voice system.

2.  If you are trying to make a call you should be using the software within the headunit which is talking to the phone via Bluetooth, if you press the voice button on the steering wheel it should say it is listening and waiting for a command, try asking it something basic first ie change from radio screen to satnav screen and check the car is recognising your voice before trying anything else.

3.  If that works try making a telephone call with the SVoice function on the phone turned off, from what you have written I would consider that having both the phone and the car trying to do the same thing is confusing the system(s).

4.  If that works re-consider flying off the handle and selling the car, if it doesn't go ahead but perhaps re-assess how you would go about asking the same question and how long you should "wait" for an answer on a Ford/Holden/whatever forum.

Methinks thou doth expect too much.

Start from the premise that your problem is your problem and clearly not common enough to expect a community of respondents to come rushing to your aid. Silence is indeed the response you will find from those who have no certain advice to give because this is very likely not a Hyundai problem. You see, a Hyundai forum has just one thing in common - Hyundai. That this problem among hundreds of forum members appears to be only yours does not point to a Hyundai problem.

Bumpkin makes a nice point - I'll take it further and suggest that you go ahead and buy a Ford/Holden/Toyota and join their forum. Better still, join a Samsung S6 SVoice forum and you'll more likely find a few people with the same problem - so are you ready to trash your Samsung? No? How strange.

Hi,
I posted a about issues that I had from a previous Hyundai that I had owned 7 years ago, and so far the moderator has not shown  my post, and I wonder why.
I am not posting on this site any more.
Good luck to all of you.

You must be kidding.

Why didn't you say so in your post.

If you have nothing to contribute to the forum it probably best for you to leave. We are a friendly bunch, ready to assist where possible but we are not Hyundai and we can't guarantee a solution to all problems. :sorry1:

So if a solution is posted what use would it be given you no longer own the car.

Can you please explain your reason for such post

You what??

You didn't post that in the first place!!

Would a 7+ year old "anycar" really be expected to have the tech in it to be able to work with a current phone?

Why have you waited 7 plus years to ask the question and why does it matter if you no longer own the car?

I despair!

I am pretty sure the poster thinks this is an 'official' Hyundai run website or something.

So do I.
