Hi All,

Just moved back to Aus from the US, selling my much loved Nissan and buying a MY16 i30 SR premium. My Nissan had a feature with the intelligent key system whereby if I pressed the car door button to unlock my car ONCE, it would only unlock the door I was at. I had to push TWICE to unlock all of car doors at once.

Both the dealer and my SO teased me when they asked what the feature was for, and I explained it was a safety feature preventing people near your car or otherwise lurking in the shadows from popping in along side you when you open the doors--there is substantially less crime/violence here, and is unlikely something I will need. All the same, I'm used to it, and would prefer it if I could make my car do this.

Both the dealer and the service manager had never heard of this type of feature, and were unsure if it was possible to do. Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers!

The only feature similar on my car is you can unlock ONLY the rear hatch and leave doors locked.

once inside the car you can activate the door lock manually via a button

Also, once it reaches a set speed the doors auto lock and stay locked even when you stop say at lights, until you either deactivate the door lock function or remove the ignition key.

ps welcome

It's not a feature I've ever noticed in my i30, the little 2003 Mitsubishi Mirage I used to own had it and so did my 1999 Clubsport

its very common in European cars and trucks.
my Citroen C4 have the option from the car computer, to open only the driver door or open all the doors, when using the remote key fob.
what I am really missing in the I30, is the auto lock of the doors above 10 kph.

On the FD model this had to be activated by the dealer.

On the GD model this can be activated via the menu you have on the dash.

Check your handbook to see whether it is available in Israel as I would expect it to be as it seems to be a generic fitment across all country's

I have the auto door lock feature that activates when you start driving but not 2 stage door opening for passenger in my GD.

I have no user manual as I got the car second hand.
the local user manuals are just a translation of the international one, no specific information.
so not sure if this option is available.
I will try and contact the importer costumer service.
