I’m about to add reverse camera to my wife’s second generation (GD 2013) i30 hatchback. I was planning to take the power from reverse light. However the reverse light is in the tailgate -> don't want to route wire there. I checked that the positive is blue wire in bulb connector and tracked it down to the cable loom on left hand side, beside back seat. Measured the voltage and it seems pull to ground. Even though in reverse light connector that blue wire is +12VDC. How can that be?
Only thing I can think of is that the blue wire in wiring loom is actually controlled by ECU and it pulls to ground. In tailgate there is some control board which controls the reverse light by ground signal.
Anyone know is this true? Where to get power for the camera? Anyone have wiring diagrams?
