  • the older I get, the faster I was
hi all
my car started to limp 2 days ago.
I30 CW, 2010, 1.6 petrol, 243000 km.
connected the OBDII reader and got error P0301 cylinder 1 misfire.
went to the mechanic, he replaced ignition coil for cylinder 1 on the spot. PN# 27301 2B010. problem solved.
am I to b ready for the other 3 ignition coils to fail? should I order in advance the other 3 coils?
are the other 3 coils have the same PN#?
thanks for your answers.

I don't have the service records before I bought the car.
so the coils could have been replaced before.

You are absolutely right.
And as I am going to tow a 1200 kg trailer I believe I need to change all 4.
Someone can tell me if all are the same? If not what are the pn# for the rest.
Thanks

I see that for the same PN there are 2 different ignition coils. one with round head and one with diamond head.
are both the same?
the old one is made by Yura but have the Hyundai and Kia logos.
can only find on Amazon and Ebay the diamond head, in koraps the picture is not good enough to see.

I believe Hyundai uses Yura parts in their cars. For example my original glow plugs were Yura brand.

All 4 are the same. You could go looking for a date stamp on them if you want some idea if they are originals or not.  The coils themselves don't have to fail to cause a misfire. It could simply be age, heat and deterioration of the insulation, cracking or tracking internally to have the spark go elsewhere and cause a miss.

I'd replace the lot or at least buy a spare or 2 just in case.
