I just noticed today, that when I put on my aircon, the air coming out isn't really that cold..
When i regulate the temp. it goes up as it is supposed to. But when I put it on 16 degrees, or just low, it isn't as cold as normal..

I have checked all fuses that are in relations with the A/C, but they are all fine..

Anyone have any suggestions, or am I going to have to take it to the dealer? (Still have warranty left, so shouldn't be a problem, but I'm going on a rather long drive tomorrow and would like to have it working there) Dealers are closed today of course :'(

First malfunction on my i30...

Does the engine tone change when the a/c button is pressed? The first sign I noticed, when mine went south, was the engine no longer got additional boost to compensate for the compressor load.

Turns out, allegedly, that mine simply needed regassing, even though it was working superbly before I had my steering rattle corrected

If the pressure drops then the compressor will not kick in. You need to re-gass as Shambles said. You need to get it checked for leaks.

Re-gass, that sounds early? This can only be caused by some kind of leak right? Or is it normal that it losses pressure over relatively short time.

I can't feel any change in engine performance when i turn A/C on, so i guess I have to visit the dealer :'(

IIRC from your thread Shambles there was one electrical connection to check was in place.

Hmm the plug actually felt a little loose, but pressing it in didn't help.. So I have booked a service at the dealer, so that it an be fixed before summer..

Hi

Upon advice from my dealer I had my aircon re-gassed/cleaned after just over two years from new. I didn't think it needed it and thought they were at it. Anyway, I was getting new TPMS valves and thought 'what the heck' and got it done. It actually made a really big difference to how cold it felt. So much so that I turn it off after 10 minutes instead of leaving it on.

Cheers
Dave

Mine is 2 years old now and I intend checking out (and cleaning or replacing) my pollen filters during the winter months.. will be interesting to see how dirty they are and if it makes any difference

I just had my 60,000 and told them I would sort the pollen filter myself (no probs with airflow or quality at the moment)

Just a little update - My car was checked by the dealer this week. Turns out to be a leak somewhere in the system. They have odered the spare part and it is to be replaced under warranty. Don't quite know what part it is, as it was my girlfriend who picked up the car from service, and she can't remember what they said needed replacement.. :D

Hoping to get it fixed in a hurry, as we have just hit 20 degrees here in Denmark (witch by our measurements is quite hot )
