Hi all,
Does anyone know whether TCS was fitted to 10/2009 build Aust. vehicles or was it a recent addition?  I couldn't find any reference to it in the owners manual. Just thought I'd better find out before I try and pull out quickly into traffic on a wet road . . .
Thanks.

I believe it was standard for a year before that, at least, along with ESP in some models, if not all.

My SX diesel has the ESP as standard. Does that mean it has Traction Control, and if so, is TC also disabled if I turn the ESP off?

Hyundai.com.au issued a press release in 2008 which said "With immediate effect, all 2009 i30 hatch models will be fitted with ESP Stability Control incorporating Traction Control System as standard."

I imagine that if you turn ESP off then TC no longer functions.

I took my i30 to a track the other day and the traction control is indeed linked to the esp system. With the esp ON, under acceleration out of a corner the engine would hesitate as if it was out of fuel until the computer decided we had enough traction to give me full throttle again. With the system turned OFF  the inside wheel was spin like crazy... 8)

So that's what it was. I was punching through some corners the week (with ESP always on off course), and when I tried to punch out of them the car would die as if to suggest there was a serious fuel pick-up issue around corners. It never occurred to at the time that I needed to turn the ESP off.
