Loosewheel's new i30

Hi all... new petrol i30 SR in mid-life crisis red. Added tinted windows and big sunroof. Everything is stock at this point. Drives like a dream and she looks really pretty.

. Got lucky... new delivery off the boat so she is a MY11 with the black headlight surrounds. Looks very sweet.

looks nice, do you have darker tint on the back windows than you do on the front or is it just the picture that makes it look lighter??
I'm also jealous of the sunroof, is that a new feature on the MY11 models? forgive my ignorance but I don't recall seeing them with sunroofs when i was researching

lol I wonder how much an aftermarket one would be

Hi Mnk_i30:
I had the window tinting done by the dealer and the sunroof added as after-market, also arranged by the dealer. The window tinting is medium range, not the darkest allowable and yes, it is actually lighter on the driver's side (and not done at all on the wind screen). Australian law requires that the tinting be lighter on the driver's side.
The sun roof is not an option for the SR, but the dealer here arranged for the after market sunroof to be installed by well-known supplier. The brand is Webasto and the model is 700 series. It looks like and behaves like a stock installed sun roof. The cost to me was $2400 AUD. Not cheap, but very nice.

I thought it might have been, lighter, they have to do that to get around the legal side of things. Must be 35% or lighter on the front windows, it can be as dark as you want on the back, this is why I got the tinting done myself I don't mind it not being RTA compliant I like the dark tint all the way round, the car still looks great though.
I think I will have to remain jealous of the sunroof though, at least until I win the 20mil lotto on the weekend

Hi babis_xo,
The seats are standard SR interior for Australia: half leather and half top quality woven fabric. They are very comfortable because the fabric part is under your seat and lower back, which is breathable. The bolsters are leather and hug you pretty nicely. The interior also has leather inserts in the door panels and the fold down armrest in the back seat. It pretty smart and luxurious for an "inexpensive" car really.

they are probably less than "half leather"

my maxima, is a "full leather interior" but when i stripped one seat to fix something in it, less than half of the seat was actually leather, it was vinyl!!

only the parts you sit on are actually leather in that car...

lol... no not really, i know that most cars are like that, same with home furniture! most sofa's are like that too! its only leather "where you sit" in most cases!
