Are people that (don't) name their cars a little odd?

Pip
We have two cars in our driveway, one is called "my car" and the other is "your car".

We've had lots of cars and they've all just gotten a hand-me-down name. Actually two names; what I call "my car",  my wife calls "your car". Even with this apparent confusion it all works out.

Have I been a bad owner by not recognising their individuality? :sweating:

Implicit in the naming convention is that I drive "my car" - unless I'm drunk. :goodjob:

The names given to our our two cars vary on who is around... :winker: .. The Hybrid is MY car unless Trish is standing next me when it becomes OUR "main" car ... :D...

The CW is OUR "2nd" car unless Trish is about when it becomes HER car  ...(she sometimes calls it "GEM" because it is such a pretty colour)

I think that is how it works anyway...

Naming your car is just plain stupid and meaningless.

(Fergie's gonna kill me for saying that )

well in my family & a friends family it's just been going on for ages. i used to own an old Valiant called Filthy Fee Fee, my friends kid's still remember her. & often bring up her name. while i was in USA i hired an old Bomb V8 Mercury it was a red or deap purple red? colour a bit faided, i got attatched to that car & called her Ruby. i hired Ruby from Whatsamacallem motors LOL that was near Myrtle Beach in the Carolina's, Ruby's owner was a good ol boy, told me any time i fly over he will meet me at airport with Ruby, was a really cheap rental too, good ol fashioned service.
Now Pip & Dazz get out & name your Cadges, i think Dazz's hybrid is Sparky

I think People in Australia, just thought it would be easy for Ambrose to go out and show the Nascar how it's done. now they can see it's not easy. but i don't follow nascar racing or V8 supercars both bore me. i like   Bike Gp & Superbikes but the both exciting to watch no pit stops no pace cars. i think if they crash bad luck should be out like old days. with the bikes it's wide open. how would you like to be doing 240kph on a bend & have someone tap you on the arm when they come up beside you :) they do things like that in bike racing. as they say no Cadges no seat belts just balls. take the pit stops out of V8's make it sprit type races and it's exciting lots of passing no re fuels no tyre changes. just what i think. speedway sprint cars good to watch too but dirty& dusty.

Sorry for the off-topic  :-[

Trish loves the V8's I enjoy them in small doses (was better before all the safety cars and such)

Quite enjoy the Nascars (even on the oval tracks) What I have seen of it anyway... They sure go fast (flat out with no room for error) I think Ambrose is doing a great job anyway .. it is so competetive and he is closer to the pointy end than the tail end  :D

My Eldest Brother is into the MotoGP (that is the one Stoner is in I think?) and even went to the Malaysian GP on one of those "VIP" type trips (not cheap)

Hey Dazz, that would be great, my m8 was over Italy when Mick Dohan was racing, told me was great, everyone over there took there own stationary motor all on stands, so all these fans all around the track with tunned up stationary two strokes. the bikes come out & all the fans fire up there motors  talk about fanatic's. the bikes are racing and the fans are all reving the ( tolet seat ) out of these stationary motors :happydance: i'll have to go over for that one day take a Nitro burning Harley motor over
Hey Rusty thanks m8

I used to call one of my cars FWOTAM...   :whistler:

But the wife does name our cars.. A VY SS ute we had she named MR X because of the plate number, a 2001 Ford Cougar she named Cherry because of the colour.
The i30 she called ROTty again because of the plate number. Her Honda Accord is just called "Her Car".

As for the V8 racing, more exciting standing at the side of the track, waving a yellow flag as they go by....
