Went on a bit of a road trip late this afternoon......

For reasons I won't go into, I had to make a trip up to Cairns from Townsville late this afternoon.
Left at 3.45pm and arrived back at 1am. Total kilometres travelled was 722.
Did the trip in a 2002 Holden Barina....and what a let down that was after my diesel i30....
No cruise control for a start and the poor little thing felt like it was pulling a million revs at cruising speed.

Not sure whether I'd gone deaf or I'd just got used to the racket, as by the time I got back home it didn't seem nearly so bad...lol.

All in all, a pretty good trip. No dramas and hopefully no speeding tickets....

That's back in Victoria, close to 3,000 kilometres away....and the Mazda 6 I've been using while here had to go in for some engine work under a "recall" and while there they discovered a CV joint that was about to fall apart, not good on a car with only 33,000k on the clock. (that's why I had to slum it with the Barina)

Ended up staying up until 3.30am local time, Daz.....Guess I was still on a "high"!
But as you can see I'm up before lunch....

Nah, had to rescue a damsel in distress..... 
Don't mind driving long distances though....been out of practice of late so was nice to get a trip in....

well with all that engine noise and the long distance he travelled,i figured rusty was in a road race.
