Hello all,
just thought I would introduce myself to you all since I have just joined up.
I'm not an owner, yet, but will be by the end of May. I currently drive a Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Sport but it will be getting traded in when I come back from my holidays next month.

Was looking at a lot of cars over the past couple of weeks and I have decided to get the i30, which I hope will be a wise choice.

One thing I have noticed is that there are a lot of members from "down under" on here, the i30 must be a popular car in Ozz  :D

Can anyone point me to a thread which highlights the problems (preferably UK ones) that I should look out for when getting my Hyundai, we had a one on the FiatForum that listed things to look out for when you picked your car up.

Hi Scott and Welcome.

Yes, you are right the i30 is popular down here. Has been in the top 10 best sellers pretty much since it was released (got as high as 3rd one month I think (close to 100,000 sold in 4 years) which is a lot for our population...

If I find that thread I will edit this post. The i30 is generally more reliable than FIAT (Fix It Again Tony, Failure In Automotive Technology) and I'm half Italian

So not much to worry about (especially with the 5 year warranty) The manuals have been pretty much bullet proof, some recent Autos hvae had issues though...

Thanks Dazzler and Asterix for the welcome.
As far as the car is concerned it is not brand new, I'm a great believer in buying something a few months old, that way I don't lose a fist full of money as soon as I drive a new one from the showroom. The price of late 2011 models (1.6 CRDi Comforts) is very attractive, around £10,000 with around 5k on the clock so that will do for me, especially since I will get nearly four and a half years warranty.

Hi Scotty Pro, welcome to the forums mate :D

I'm not into fishing myself but do appreciate that fine avatar you're sporting :whistler:

As for that thread on the FiatForum "that listed things to look out for", I'm guessing it was one mother of a thread

Good move. I got a demo with 6500kms on it for our main car. The I30 we have now is the wifes car.

The CRDi is brilliant

Welcome Scotty Pro, whichever one you get you will be delighted with it. :goodjob2:

Have a read through the forum, nothing much ever goes wrong and if it does you will have that 5 year warranty to fall back on. Sorted :D

Thank you very much, the i30 and the 5 year warranty was a big deciding factor in my choice  :)
