Hi All, I haven't visited for a while. It's been a long time now since we test drove the i30 and we've been dreaming of owning one since! Thinking of popping back down to the dealer later in the week and seeing what they will offer for our XR6. The best price we have for an SLX Manual (Petrol) is $23,990 drive away. Yes...drive away! That's a good deal ...right??? Am leaning towards the Silver so obviously that will be extra. (I'd like Black but in a mining town I would always be washing it!) What does everyone think??? I wonder if they would trade the Myer Card on some accessories like mud flaps, Bonnet and Light protectors???
Am trying to remain calm and not rush into anything....but I'd really love an i30!!!!

Myer card?!

That is a very good price. I got my SLX Diesel on road for $27380 with mudflaps, metallic paint, darkest legal tint & floor mats.

yeah, that is a good price. My dealer said he could take $1k off the price instead of giving me the myer card. If you're getting finance for the vehicle, you might be best off getting any extras included in the purchase price rather than trying to get a cheaper price on tint etc aftermarket, because the financier won't pay for those aftermarket costs, only the dealership-invoiced amount.

(NB - Myer card is the current Hyundai deal - they offer it rather than taking cash off, so when the financiers will only finance the vehicle invoice price, you can go to Myer to buy a TV or playstation or whatever you want. Better than holden's 0.99c/L petrol deal!!!)

Thanks for your thoughts, guys....

Yeah a Myer Card doesn't thrill me but Accessories would! Does anyone know off the top of their heads the value of....
*Bonnet Protector
*Head Light Protector
*Mud Flaps
*Floor Mats
*Tint

I know these things have often been discussed, but finding the right threads now is proving difficult. If that came to approx. $1000 then that would clinch the deal! (Instead of Myer Card) They may not go for it anyway. Four of those five things are a necessity and the fifth one of them would be just awesome!

Hyundai Australia doesn't list the cost of accessories on their site, probably so Dealers can mark them up however much they want, but how bout this: try saying to the dealer "look, instead of the $1k voucher, I want this, this, this, and this. Can you do it, or should I go ask one of the other dealers in town?". See what they say.

Oh - and Tinting should be the most expensive of those - Solartint can do their best tint for $250 at the moment (near me anyway) - so if they try to say "tint is $600 alone, can't do it" ask them why you can get Solartint to do tinting for $250 - they should be able to add all of them options, I'm sure they can.

Thanks Rubix....I might see if I can get some local 'quotes' tomorrow. We are out in the country and don't have the bargaining power (or Foxtel, or great retail or a cinema or....ahhh the list is endless!) that our city cousins do.
Will let you know how I go.

hi AussieNess, thats a good price if you are trading in your XR6, but if your selling the XR6 yourself and paying cash i think you could get it down to round figures say $23,000 drive away maybe cheaper, but if your trading in they will give you a very low trade in price at that drive away price. in this economic climate your the boss if you have the cash.
good luck.

Hey Lakes...not sure what we'll do yet. Maybe we'll park the XR6 beside the highway for a few days and see if we get any serious buyers. Has alot of k's on it but it's a great car. Your right, they use the trade price as their buffer.

Hi Tylenol
I'm interested.....Thanks for posting.

Was that all through your dealer when you bought the car (or later)? Sounds really good.

All through the dealer :)

Everything was built into the deal except the cargo liner which I negotiated afterwards and will be picking up next week.
