May new vehicle sales of 96,788 units represented a steady market compared to May 2012 with only a 0.7% increase, according to official VFACTS data released today by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).

Overall market sales year to-date in 2013 of 454,953 represents growth of 4% over the year to date sales in the same period for 2012.

Toyota was the top selling marque for May 2013 and also had the top two selling models with the Hilux and Corolla.

The top five motor vehicles in May were Toyota Hilux (3665 units), Toyota Corolla (3640 units), Mazda 3 (3054 units), Mitsubishi Triton (2606 units) and Hyundai I30 (2512).
