I got free genuine Hy mats with my new i30 which I immediately replaced with  rubber tray mats which cost £4.99 for the two front and are trimmed to an almost perfect fit.  I already had two tray mats that fitted the rear seat wells.

My heart bleeds for them

My order on 17th March said almost the same thing, but I still received the pack 3 days after ordering it.

I have given the car a clean this morning ready to say goodbye to it tomorrow.

The cheap inexpensive mats I bought last November have proved durable but the pile has fluffed up and they are the very devil to clean because fibrous debris, like small plant stalks - get trapped in the raised pile and resist every attempt at vacuuming or brushing. In fact brushing makes it worse because it raises the pile even more and buries the debris deeper.

This is not a whinge because the mats really are good value - just an observation after an hour's frustration. As it happens, I kept the original mats in the garage and they are still in good condition - so I have fitted these and put the non original set in the boot as spares for whoever becomes the new owner.  He or she can sit and pick all the straws out of the fluffy pile.

Not quite comprehensive - otherwise I would have mentioned that the front passenger mat is by far the worst. The driver tends to keep his feet in one place - whereas the passenger obviously shuffles her feet and scrubs up the mat.

Also that the raised section on the drivers mat is not in the ideal place for a lady driver with size 5 shoes who uses unladylike language when her heel gets caught on it as she tries to operate one of the pedals.
