Look out i'm back already. The daughter went for a nice long drive in her new Elite i30 today and loved it except she still can't believe it belongs to her. She took it up the motorway and said it handled great. I am so pleased for her as this is her first new car.  The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the sat nav, for some reason when going around a roundabout if a road off of the roundabout had a dividing strip on it  it counted that as two roads and instead of showing the route going of the 3rd exit as it should ,it showed the 4th, hope that makes sense, anyway it was wrong, also when coming up to some traffic lights where it should have gone straight on ( the only entrance to a housing estate ) it said turn right, this would have taken her miles out of the way with no other way into the estate. While she was out she got her new Apple i phone and is looking forward to hooking that up to the bluetooth in the car, on that subject I will have to change my phone for when I get my new i30, have I told you i'm getting a new i30,  well I am getting a new i30 , I'm getting a new i30 in a few weeks time, it's going to be a new sleek silver i30 I am very excited about getting the new i30 ( got the message )  :happydance: Bugger what was I talking about , that's the problem with getting old. Oh yes now I remember, would one of you kind folks point me in the right direction or if you have a link to the list for the Hyundai compatible phones I would appreciate it. An apple i phone would be a waste of time for me just need a pre paid one to make  phone calls and send a text now and again, my old gas one will not hook up to the bluetooth IN THE NEW i30, there I shouted it out this time in case you did not hear it before.

Hint-: Turn the Sat nav off and buy a street directory, simpler to use and far more accurate (given you buy the latest one) as for the phone, anyone with Bluetooth should be compatible, but unless they have done some you beaut magic, you can only have one phone connected at any one time.
Glad she loves the car.

Hi Rick- without the p,
Nahhh won't happen she's paid for the new sat nav so she is going to use it even if she ends up in New zealand    I thought the ones supplied in the car were supposed to be pretty accurate.

Re satnav.
Could just be the maps which is the problem and not the satnav.
To test. Do you have another satnav?
If so, do the same route and see what that displays.
If ok then the maps are the issue.

Re phone
I just have a very cheap one £30 and this connects ok with my bluetooth.
Connects automatically when i turn the radio on.

Hi John,

Love your sense of humour. Think I will have to track you down next time we get to Qld!

There are some threads on here about compatible phones but it is not a definitive list!

As Rick says, any current phone with bluetooth should do the trick  :Touch:

 Hi eye30,
Use the same route myself with a Tom Tom and its perfect, it's actually the route to where we live but when you get to my age you need  a GPS to find your way home, saves somebody coming to get you  The daughter was just trying the sat nav out. Stupid spell check keeps changing sat nav to sat nag , I have been deleting it and putting it back in for the last 10 min  until it finally said you win, perhaps it knows more than I do   All this technology is doing my head in :D

Hi Dazzler,
Thank you for the compliment but seeing I am new I have explored the post in the forums and there are some real comedy acts on here , love it, I do like a good laugh. The wife would disagree with you suggesting I have a sense of humour she reckons I am just retreating back into childhood, and the grandkids find me Down right embarrassing when we go out, especially when I did an Irish jig outside an Irish pub in front of a mirror. Went back there for a meal a few weeks later only to discover it was a one way mirror with all the patrons sitting at the tables looking out :-[  Back to the phone, I went to Telstra to look at there latest offerings and was told I should make sure that any phone I like I should check to make sure it is compatible with the Hyundai, although she then said most phones these day's should work, covering her bum I think, now now you know what I mean.

Cheers John.

Sorry folks I expect some of the diners in the pub would have taken some photos but you must remember I was an innocent jig dancer   :happydance: ( hadn't even had a drink, honest ) I had no idea I was that afternoons entertainment. I guess you just had to be there. Maybe you can just use your imagination, i will try to help you , picture this, some silly old fart with daggy shorts ,knobbly knees , long white socks, silver hair making a right fool of himself without the excuse of being drunk. I hope that is as good as pictures  Dazzler your a trouble maker along with your mates ouri30 and surfer dude

   Cheers John B.
