Congrats on your new car, how many K's did your 08 have on it? are the both manual or petrol?
 do you see many i30's in NZ?

On a recent NZ trip I hired a Getz purely on price. Now I would hire an i30 diesel as it would use less fuel, diesel is about 60c per litre cheaper and it might actually go up hills! The Getz was down to about 40 km/h on some hills and we were overtaken by trucks.

The 1.6 getz is/was pretty zippy (I wonder what motor was in the one you rented?)

My missus had a getz awhile back, it had about as much balls as a cricket trying to get up hills. Flat roads it was great

i wonder if rossviss Happy with new car, i drove my fathers i.8 Elantra auto (new model ) i think they are same as i30GD? felt good responsive to throttle & smooth just kicked back & revved a lot if put foot down.
