Just bought a new 2014 I30 Had a dealer fitted towbar. When I went to use the trailer, I found the back bumper was as loose as all getout. Took it back and they told me it was because I had a towbar fitted. Not happy!! Anyone else have the same problems?
I am in the process of speaking to my lawyer. He says I have a good case.
I am a return buyer and the last model I30 had a towbar with no problems.

It would seem the dealer needs a foot up the clacker....I would be contacting Hyundai Australia first before getting the lawyers involved...

How the f%@k can they expect you to accept a loose bumper on a new car, which they clearly caused when they fitted your towbar .  I'm guessing it wouldn't be hard to find an i30 with a towbar whose bumper doesn't wobble.

I'm presuming the same dealer that fitted it also supplied the i30...?

Speak to your lawyer by all means but don't ask him to start any litigation as that'll only leave a sour taste in your dealers mouth and cost you $$, which shouldn't be necessary, at this stage.

Don't know about the GD, but I fitted the factory towbar to my FD myself and the bumper didn't need to be removed at all. I can't imagine the GD would have so different a rear "subframe" to warrant removal of the bumper. Me thinks apprentice scored the job and nobody wants to fix it...

Is the Tow Bar a Hyundai Genuine tow bar or an after market?

If the towbar is made for the i30, of course the bumper should not be loose. ...
