Does anyone know how much the larger i30 oem wheels weigh?  I've tried several forums, but couldn't find a straight answer.  They are the 17" ones in the state, don't know the metric size.  I appreciate it, guys.

Hi there.

Dunno what the answer is and I'm sure not going to remove one of mine to weigh it :P

So, why do you need the weight?

I was looking for that info once too. Not 17" but still..

I was looking for that weight because I wanted to know if the alloys I was considering of buying are heavier or lighter. Les weight the alloys have -> better the car goes

Yeah, that's why I was looking up the information too.  Searched on eBay and all sorts of OEM distributor sites for the weights, but no luck.

Why not email Hyundai Head office in your country and just ask them?

Thats true a lighter tyre wheel combination alows the wheel to excellerate faster, what about carbon fiber wheels they are very light.

Well, I spoke to HyundaiUSA yesterday and the representative could not find any information regarding the weight of specific wheels.  They gave me instruction, however, on how to sign up for HMAservice.com (It's free and easy).  Unfortunately, that website did not have the specific information I was looking for either.  The only thing I could find was a general specification piece that noted each wheel/tire combo weighs approximately 30lbs.  I know this isn't right for the i30 17" wheels, as the Kumho OEM tires weigh 21-22lbs each, meaning the wheel is 9-10lbs.

I only asked for the weight of the wheels.. (so I assume it doesn't include the black stuff)

Although the weights seemed slightly higher than I expected...

Thanks, Dazz.  It sounds about right to me.  I now the 17" Sonata wheels weigh about 23lbs, which is about 10.4kg.
