and loving it.
Had my i30 since last Friday and its been great. Its a bit quirky what with dipping the clutch to start it but it is great.
Have noticed it isnt the easiest car to see out of. The A Pillar is rather obstructive but it seems all modern cars are the same. As a life long biker I always do a "life saver" before overtaking or changing lane. The visibility is poor as there is precious little day light visible out the drivers side rear door.
Its way too early to give a MPG figure and I wondered how accurate the onboard computer is?
The tyres seem to give considerable road noise and, having searched this forum, a change to Conti 5 seems to be the way ahead.
Minor criticisms for this car. As I said at the start....luvin it

For myself I found visibility out the back when reversing was quite bad which was why I had a reverse cam installed.
Don't bother too much with the mileage checks for the first few thousand km's "at least", the engine will loosen up and things will improve

Since having this car i hardly turn my head when reversing except to do a quick glance around.
Use mirrors and revresing sensors.
Because of poor visability i try as far as possible, 99.9%, to reverse into spaces or in car parks with 2 rows, where possible, if i can, will go in forward into the far space so i come out front first.
1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

You hit the nail on the head Stew, or is that Stu..
A pillars seem to have got wider in a lot of modern cars and over the shoulder vision seems to have deteriorated in most cars too (from my experience)
I have blind spot monitoring for the first time in my new car and it is almost a must as a quick over the shoulder check doesn't fill me with confidence.
We don't get the 1.4 Petrol in Oz but should be pretty thrifty fuel wise!
(the 1.6 GDi certainly is)
