So I was just checking the parts I need for my oil change, and ran into some issues

For the oil filter, I see 2 different sizes, one is 104 mm in length, the other is 121 mm.

For the fuel filter, there are 2 different screw thread sizes

1,
A, M16x1,5
B, M12x1,25

2,
A,16x1,5
B,M10x1,5

How can I tell which sizes do I need? Without taking anything apart, that is  :whistler:

Most part suppliers use the vehicle's vin # to identify the correct part. Failing that, you'd have to go to the dealer to get a part no, or buy the items and record the numbers for future reference.

It all depends on your VIN number (where and when your car was actually built). If you want to send me your cars VIN number via PM, I can try to check if my electronic product catalog reconizes it. I should be able to see the OEM part numbers. That might help to find out the actual sizes if you are going to buy third party filters.

You should get the right one from parts store, if you buy it with your VIN number. But I recommend getting atleast OEM fuel filter. I've had too many problems with third party diesel fuel filters...

Yup, I hear you. Been struggling with low quality air-, oilfilters myself with my other cars. Even the ones that were cheap, but recommended :)

I was going to buy the mid range stuff (except for italian, indian and polish made stuff).

Like ashika, japanparts... japan sounding, but cheap italian low quality parts. I've tried them once on a different car, wasn't impressed

In the end, I ran out of time, and just went to a bosch certified service my hometown (really expensive stuff). But they're only using castrol oils and only bosch parts (which are really high quality) which is good.

Still, I don't trust any car mechanic :)

I've sent you my VIN, thanks :)

From memory in Australia anyway, only the early 2008 cars had the smaller filter.

There are plenty of genuine filters on ebay....If you can find one to post to you,

I posted the part numbers to OP via PM. I hope they are the right ones. At least they are the ones I got with his VIN...

Just thought I'd check on this and it's actually the later models that use the smaller filter!

Part number for the later model's filter is 26320 2A500...

Just to clarify, when I say later models, I mean models after February 2008 through to 2012...  :victory:

Great info,guys!

My car is in fact made in 2007november,but it's model year is 2008, so it is a bit misleading :sweating:

Thanks for Sundiz first to send me the part numbers :goodjob2:

Looks like I need the larger oil filter, and the fuel filter is narrowed down to 1 size too :victory:
Thanks all for the clarification
