Light Bar Wiring on 2008 1.6CRDi

I've just got my led light bar but I'm struggling to find a pass through to route the wires! Has anyone installed a Light bar or know of a place I can route the wires from the switch through the firewall to the battery?

Do you have pictures to help us visualise your challenge?
My light bar is wired through the front grille to one of the light cluster connectors, so no firewall involved.

I can upload some tomorrow, its for the switch inside the cabin so I can have the option to have the light bar on or off when the high beams are on.

Hmmm. The usual way in firewalls I've done is to push a screwdriver through some rubber grommet carrying a loom through.

Hmmm. The usual way in firewalls I've done is to push a screwdriver through some rubber grommet carrying a loom through.

Being very careful not to damage any adjacent wiring.  :sweating:

I just fitted a 22" bar to Mr's i-30. 
Had to make a bracket from the front cross member down and out through the grille to support the bar. There's nothing there that's strong enough to hold the weight of a light bar.   Those number plate style brackets would be useless as the plate is only held on with 2-PK screws into plastic.
So once the bar was in, the wiring went quickly apart from the isolating switch inside the cabin. 
This is required by law and there's no obvious grommets through the firewall.  None on the RHS that is.
So at the moment Mr's switch wire is coiled up in the engine bay and the bar is turned off.
To be continued when I find my step drill.

Thanks Everyone. I managed to pop out the drivers side indicator and find the grommet where the water for the rear wiper goes through and poke wires in there. It popped out in the perfect place for the wiring! Also, with the mounting I managed to secure the light bar (Its only a small one) onto a number plate nudge bar using two extra nuts and bolts.

It popped out in the perfect place for the wiring! Also, with the mounting I managed to secure the light bar (Its only a small one) onto a number plate nudge bar using two extra nuts and bolts.

My pair of light bars attached to my number plate nudge bar are doing great, and still only with the original two tapping screws. :D

I'll have to get the high power specs out, couldn't see anywhere suitable through the firewall on Mr's GD. 
The light bar is pretty heavy and as we live on a corrugated dirt road, the job has to be done right. 
Saw plenty of light bars/spotties/number plates etc etc dangling from vehicles when we did the Gibb and Bungle Bungles. (NOT in the i-30)
Could have started a wrecker's yard using all the dropped off bits on the side of the road.

I get your point, Crayman. If mine were a 22" type, I'd be mounting it better myself, but they're tiny lightweight plastic. I doubt they weigh even 80g together.

Going over speed humps opposite shop windows at night I can see that they're rock solid.

Love those small bars. They look great. No problem with weight there. 
The 22" weighs about 2kg and is ugly as sin. 
Does the job though, stock high beam is pathetic on Mrs GD.
