Thought as most of us use the iPod in the car it would be interesting to know what's playing whilst we're driving around!

For me, its a very mixed bunch - from years of getting into different music, alot of it has stuck!

I'm still using the iPod Mini 4G(Gen 2) - yup the antique of iPods!

Metallica (prol my most favoured band)
Megadeth
Black Eyed Peas
U2
ACDC
Ozzy (Black Sabbath)
Foo Fighters
Bon Jovi
Screaming Jets
Sex Pistols
Ramones
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
The Chemical Bros
The Beastie Boys
Pearl Jam
Top 40 (I just keep mixing them around)
Mixture of 80's & 90's
INXS
Eminem
Crowded House
Macy Gray
Oasis
Eric Clapton
Van Halen
Motley Crue
GnR

......From off the top of my head.......

  • i30's are being seen everywhere....
For me it's my iphone with a good range of music depending on my mood.

Classical - Bach Beethoven Mozart etc as well as André Rieu and Bond and quite a bit in between
Old time Jazz with Louis Armstrong
Modern Jazz including the Emanuel Brother Phil and Tommy on Guitar
Swing - love the Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman Big Bands
Rock - Elvis Roy Orbison Niel Diamond
Pop - John Farnham

Too many to list really, hours and hours of listening.... but nothing like the 8 days 'L30N' has got. :D

Must say I also enjoy listening to podcasts of ABC Classics 'Mornings with Margaret Throsby' some wonderful interviews with some very very interesting people from all walks of life.

Around 2600 songs I think...

My 16GB memory stick has got a similar number.. Funny thing is I tend to only listen to about a third of them on a regular basis like

Amanda Marshall
Paul Carrack
Bang the Drum
Shannon Noll
Troy Cassar-Daley
Melissa Etheridge
The Corrs
Back Street Boys
Ian Moss
Brian Adams
Delta Goodrem
Gerry Rafferty
Jude Cole
Keith Urban
Marc Cohen
Maroon 5
Paul Kelly
Rohan Keating
Southern Sons
Steve Winwood
Crowded House

and some newer stuff like

James Morrison (the singing one)
Katy Perry
Eskimo Joe

and lots of recent (catchy) one hit wonders my Daughters download..

Wow. learning lots about our lot from their music.
I haven't got my ipod working yet.
Did anyone persist with their own ipod usb to 30pin ipod connector or did you purchase the hyundai one? They told me it was around $70! can't believe it when Apple charges $30 and a generic is $20 odd.
Shall I persist in sourcing a non-hyundai one?

Well you could keep trying generic ones you may get one that works.
I think there is a post around here of some that have worked?

Yeah $70 is a bit steep (some charge up to $140!) the dealer told me that Audi charge $250 for theirs - but not sure I'm believing that!

But for me I bought the Hyundai one and it was plug-n-play - worked from the start.

Just remember that some iPods don't work - check your manual.
I tried with a shuffle - I bought an aftermarket adapter and whilst it played the tune no probs, it just listed the songs by iTunes names - jargon!

I didn't waste my money though coz now I can use the shuffle in an iPod Dock speaker system.....
