Very nice... great to have a new colour on the forum. Brown interior looks strange to me as not many cars in Aus come with that...but a nice change all the same.

So they don't actually have an icatcher badge anywhere on them?

Thanx for the pix....

Rgds,

Dazz

Tony, Very nice.

Do those wheels come standard on that model?
We get those same wheels only on our sports model, the SR. It is coupled with a body kit.
Was the GPS standard or did you add that?

The radio antenna is different. It also has rear parking sensors :)

icatcher
Well, well, I see you're all good observers!
Congratulations! You discovered the 10 differences... )
4) At the ride home from the showroom I stopped at the carshop and bought the new antenna. Couldn't stand the long thing that it had on its roof. Costs: € 6,95  Looks: €25,-  :D
5) the navigation comes standard at all the Hyundai-models at this moment in the Netherlands. I don't know if they sell it aftermarket. It works fine, though.
6) There's no i-catcher badge anywhere on the car. It's just the name they gave it in the sales promotion. But I like it...
7) What you didn't notice: I removed 'Hyundai' from the backside. Just left the i30 sign. I think it looks better.  (Removing is very simple: just use a hair-dryer and the stick-on letters will let go from the body...)

Plans I have: roof-spoiler on the backside. Other door-sills (metal-look or chrome). Later: a bodykit (still looking for a nice one).

That's it for now!

Greetz,
Tony

Can I ask why you did that  :?:

Just like a smooth backside...
From my Tucson I removed both Hyundai and Tucson. Let people guess what your car is. :?
It's not unusual in the tuning-world to 'shave' your car...
I think it's a matter of taste. anyway: the 'H' in the middle says "hyundai' as well, don't it?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the detailed reply... you are fitting into this club very nicely... ;)

He makes custom wheel badges when I buy after market wheels (as per pix of my wifes Tiida Mag)

Plenty of info about bodykits and the like on here somewhere! (amongst our 2500 posts)

Thanks for the tip about the i-catcher badge, Dazz.
I'll think about it. I'll check out the car's prospectus to see if there's something in it. I didn't notice it yet.
Maybe my son can design one - he's studying design (amongst other things...)
Keep you informed!

Tony

These laser cutting machines are amazing they can cut or engrave thin metal sheets or thicker chromed plastic..the results are very professional!

This is my friend's website (although it's a bit out of date - he gets most of his work by word of mouth)

http://www.lcat.au.com/com_prof.htm

Should be able to search the net for Laser cutters in your local area

Love the GPS!  :D
Hi to all!

I'm new here bud I like to give a answer to the question raised in the quote above about the beautiful looking GPS system that we (The Netherlands) get for free in every i30 factory build.

http://www.gpstar.de/bildergalerie/hyundai-i30-zu.jpg
http://www.gpstar.de/bildergalerie/hyundai-i30-auf.jpg

The system is made in Germany at a company called GPStar (http://www.gpstar.de/Uk/bilder_de.html).
At there website you can find the kit instructions, content and hard & software info.
The used technology for the GPS comes from NAVTEQ (http://www.navteq.com/index.html) and uses the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system.
The actual software that you use as a consumer is Navigon Mobile Navigator 6 (http://www.navigon.com/site/uk/en/products/mobile_navigation/mobile_navigator).

Hope to have helped you in your quest for a answer!
