In victoria they have a habit of pointing cameras down hills to catch EVERYONE who doesn't ride their brakes all the way down.

If it was they would light them up a night, not hide them in the dark behind trees.

Speed cameras don't stop speeding.  They let you continue down the road at whatever speed you want and send you a bill later.  A copper however will pull you up and stop you.
