Hi, yesturday a friend flew up from Melb for a party. i picked him up at airport in the i30, he was telling me his partner just got a new Hyundai accent premium 1.6 manual, she loves it. it replaced a 3 year old top of the line Falcon Fairmont 6 speed auto. he said he was surprised as she don't miss the Falcon she loves driving this new Accent, said its a lot of fun to drive and, he said it goes well too. i did not even know they had a new Accent out. i don't keep up to date with cars that much.
just thought i'd post it wonder where the accent falls? like is it bigger than an i30 or same size?

Hi John,

Here is am link to a thread on the new accent..there is some discussion elsewhere as well on here as Surferdude (Trev) helped a friend to buy one recently..

https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=9596.msg125260#msg125260

They are positioned just below the i30 and Elantra biggest motor they come with is 1.6 ltr versus 1.8 for the Elantra and 2.0 for the i30.

Word is trim is a bit more plasticy in the accent but Trev reckons they are still a tidy little car (I've driven the new Elantra but not the Accent.

Here is a link to it on the Hyundai Australia site... (P.S. the Accent Hatch looks  alot like the i30 from some angles!)

Only thing I'd add to Dazz's post is to say I didn't really notice any difference in the trim.
Since my sister in law bought one, a guy I work with has bought one (independent decision) and my son who's an electrical engineer reckons he'll replace his Mazda 6 Sports with one in the next year or so.

In UK, Accent no longer in the marque....

So will the Accent be removed from the Oz market soon?

Hi eye30, from my information, Accent/Verna/Solaris/i25/Avega, are all one & the same car depending what country you are in. i think personally Hyundai should just stick to the i & number designation world wide & keep it simple or in other word use the KISS system

also look at this little Hy they say big sales in India http://www.hyundai.com/in/en/Showroom/Flash/SRFOVERVIEW/DF_IN_SR_22_111010151236.html

Yes and Yes.

My dad has one, 1.2 Comfort and it is a great little car to drive around the town..
Easy to squeeze into small spaces and park.
I find that on the open road it lacks the pull I get from my 1.6crdi.

Seems unlikely Lester as this is an all new version of the accent (and only recently introduced)

I think the Accent has such a poor reputation in the UK that Hyundai have dropped that name and model completely here.

Whilst I can't be 100% sure I think the closest you will get to the Accent here is buying the new Kia Rio. :undecided:

The Accent has been around in Oz for some years on and off in various guises but I think they've got it right with this one.
Damn nice little car.
