Just a reminder of what can happen.
And it doesn't have to be your car - someone else coming the other way is all it takes.
Warning  Pretty graphic stuff.

Thanks for posting that Trevor .. If that brilliantly produced video doesn't make you slow down and drive more carefully then you are already dead.

It is the silly season unfortunately, I saw lots of risk taking (including a big Semi-trailer) when I was showing my Dad around this week

It's sad to think that even with campaigns like this, some people are already marked to die, they just don't know it yet.

Here are a few tips I use to survive.

1. No drugs / alcohol.
2. Drive defensively & drive the other car.
3. Pick your driving time, late night / early am is notoriously bad.
4. Try not to travel at all.
5. Check your vehicle.
6. Start you journey early if possible.
7. Be prepared to pick your children up, no matter where or when.
8. And anything else I've forgotten.

BTW That woman @ 28 secs looks a bit like J. Gillard, still, won't hold that against her.

Doing all that might improve your chances but if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time there will be no saving you...

Look at that woman who was walking down the street with her Hubby and Child in Perth the other day  :disapp:

We had a 21 yr old girl killed driving along a main Adelaide road. Killed by falling tree branch. The tree is over 100yrs old, what would the odds be, of that happening with a car directly underneath.  :blubber:

Shocking advert, but on the other hand, simply excellent.

That is the kind of thing we should be showing over here, not the namby-pamby rubbish we normally get.

It might make some think twice.

Brilliant advert. Spotted a scene from Final Destination 5 in there.

I know of many similar freak accidents.. Many years ago a woman passenger was killed instantly by a long piece of timber that came through the windcreen of her car. It was sticking out the back (side) of a parked utility. Also remembering the story someone posted on here of the woman in the UK who was nursing a faulty spare tyre on her lap when it exploded and killed her...

PS I am not trying to diminish the effectiveness of this thread (PLEASE BE CAREFUL THIS CHRISTMAS & GOING FORWARD INTO 2012)

You're right Dazz, there's little that can be done about the above accidents. But WE are obliged to drive responsibly, all the time. Driving and journeying should be relaxing and fun IMO.
