Hi all
I have been a i30cw owner since nov 2009 and love it. I have been adding different trims to it ( will add photos when I have time and it stops raining) One thing I would like to ask other members is, does anyone know where I can get a bumper protector in this part of the world. I have seen stainless steel ones which look quite good but they are in the UK or Europe and cost more to send them to Oz than the cost of buying them.

Have been looking at other owners pics and they look very nice

Cheers

Welcome kerwick

Do you mean this?

http://www.hyundai-car.co.uk/accessories/all/?modelName=i30&ref=179

Strange that these are not available in Oz.

Have you asked at the dealers whether they can source one direct from Korea?

Hi kerwick and welcome from a fellow Brisbane member. I also have a CW and brought my rear bumper protector from this Korean mob. I'm very happy with both its functionallity and its looks.

If you are looking on ebay, be careful that you get a rubber protector, not the vinyl sticker style type. Good luck.

Great mods & a spunky looking car. How did you make the cargo mat?

Hi Ugly Mongrel

got the mat from Bunnings it cost about $30, is 1.20m by 3m (I think). Its a mat for using in workshops like a anti-fatigue mat. Quite soft to walk on and strong and waterproof. Its easy to cut with a stanley knife or strong scissors. Use glue Velcro (hook side) underneath so it grips to carpet on floor and back of seats, dont forget to cut out where the seat locks in place. I cut the storage comparts seperate and cut a slit to pull the tabs through so you dont have to pull the mat up to get at them. Its looks good and is a lot cheaper than the ones on ebay. We have a ix35 and I did the same in it as well. Hope this helps any more questions let me know. Cheers

Thanks kerwick. Looks very easy.

A suggestion. Would you like to start a post in the "Modifications" folder with the photo of the cargo area and the description of what you did. I'm sure a lot more CW me members will see it if posted there.

Well done.

Aldi had a non stick car mat for about $10.

Forgot to go in and check it out. Hope they still have some avaliable, and it will stop the young blokes pram from sliding around in the back

Welcome....Great to see another Brissy CW owner, now for full points, is it a diesel?

Hi Guys

still have one thing left to do to the cargo mat and that is to attach a piece to the rear door to stop things marking it it they move. Have got some different tabs to try and if it works I will take up your sugestion and post it. As for the other question, sorry guys it is petrol, I have had the car for 2 and half years and have done just over 15,000 kms and fill it up about every six weeks so it does cost much to run.
