And a few running nations around the world too.

That's what I like about McDonald's.  You know who the clown is that runs the place.

We Aberdonians have been watching this one with interest, the article here takes it out of context a little.

The whole point of this "stunt" was to be able to elect a councillor who would represent the "silent majority", very clever IMHO :D :D

As it stands the elections are two weeks away and I have only had communications from 2 of the 8 individuals standing in my ward, how are we supposed to make informed decisions when we dont know what they stand for  :undecided: :undecided:

And if they don't stand for something, they'll fall for anything, as they say.  :)

I work in Local Government.   :whistler:

Believe me it doesn't matter what they stand for before they are elected, they will fall into line with everyone else after they are elected.  :disapp:

And they do become keen on seeing themselves in the local paper.
So much so, that some of them would go to the opening of an envelope if it gets them publicity.  :groan:

But of course, I would never say anything bad about my employers.

No, no, no, no, no, no. I did not mention money. (looks over shoulder in fear)   :scared:  We do NOT mention bribes in Local Government.   :faint:

I even had to record two homemade cakes that a ratepayer baked for me to say thanks for helping her. It is a nightmare of paperwork.  :disapp:

I had the same issue once - a chocolate cake received following a speeding caution.
The next thing a phone call from internal Investigations. Bloody ridiculous.
"Yes sir, I would always risk my career for a chocolate cake."

The case was dismissed on a technicality:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-20970395

"It is important to understand that this decision was based on a strict legal technicality in the way that the charge was framed and that the court did not consider the facts of the case or give a ruling on legality of nominating a non-human candidate.

"As I understand it, the prosecuting authorities chose to bring the charge under section 65a of the Representation of the People Act 1983, which is the provision which applies to general elections in Scotland and local government elections in England.

"The equivalent offence in a Scottish local government election is section 65b. Since section 65a does not create an offence at a Scottish local government election, there was no case to answer."

I thought it was dismissed because the dummy couldn't stand up in court  :whistler:
