I have very fond memories of our 2006 Getz (Misha/meehalych) liked his too...

@meehalych have a great time Misha  :goodjob:
Yep, I do confirm), so does my girlfriend (she had Getz too)

- came back home yesterday
+ the trip was cool in overall (sunny and hot weather apart from the last evening in Prague)
+ free wine on board of Austrian) and hot meal
- no wine on Rossiya airlines (not that I would have taken one, though), nor hot meal (just a sandwich)

I have a plan.

If the plan were any more cunning it'd have a tail and be called a fox.

+Finally got around picking up an Hyundai oil filter for the upcoming oil change.
-Hyundai wanted 205 sek ~$35au.
+Which is the same as quality filters go for around here, so saved the shipping.
+Filter-kit includes the o-ring and metal shim for the plug, which an 3rd party filter would not.
+Heard that my workshop is switching to Shell Helix Ultra over the summer.

Overall, a good day. :)

Now I just need to wait for the oil(Helix Ultra Pro AM-L) I ordered online to get shipped and I can do my "interim" oil change. Interval is 30k km here, so I figure a change of oil in the middle of them is in order.

+++ I finally got my friends' Kia Picanto sorted out tonight. She had a stripped stud in her left side front wheel, so I got the part from the local Kia dealership (AU$5) and we started last night after work. I couldn't get the wheel nut off the stripped stud so I had to shear the stud in half (accidentally...) to get it out. Unfortunately the dust shield made it impossible to get the new one in so I had to bend it a bit to get the stud in place. Pulled it tight and reassembled the wheel and she is right as rain! Need to get another wheel nut though. I gave her the old wheel nut with half the stud still stuck in it as a memento

+++ Weekend for me and a well deserved one at that. These weeks keep getting longer and longer! :undecided:

- Sad that I haven't been on here as much as I'd like, but work is making it down right impossible with all the weekend work and overtime we are needing to keep head above water since they cut our field staff by 60%

After having  my best friend euthanised a while ago and saying I could not go through it again and that I would not get another dog , guess what. Meet Georgie the female Labradoodle. Already training up well. She is now 15 weeks old and will be a medium size weighing about 15/ 17 kg when fully grown. She appears to be more Labrador than Poodle at this stage, mixes well with other dogs loves people and food. :D. She is a great dog, we have not had any sleepless nights and she learnt to tap on the door to the garden in a few days to go to the toilet. The only problem at the moment is those little sharp teeth. If you look at the band aid profits they have risen sharply this last month :snigger: She is now getting to learn that being a land shark gets no attention and the blood flow has now thankfully stopped . Any way to all the doggie fans out there ( I don't mean our Doggie 1 forum mates fans )  :snigger: I thought I would share this with you.

Cute little dog John :goodjob2: hopefully she keeps a Poodle coat and doesn't drop hair everywhere.

Fortunately Craig she has a  fleece coat, although not like a wool coat that does not shed at all the fleece coat does shed a very small amount of fluff. That we can live with, and unlike the wool coat the fleece does not require clipping nearly as much.  :goodjob2:

Great decision, John.   :goodjob2:
I've held back getting another one since losing Shadow last month, but I have no doubt we will get another one (or two).   :)

It's great to see you still have compassion for animals. You've provided a nice home for this pet & the love will be reciprocated, well done

Thanks Doggie 1. I know exactly how you feel ,it really hurts when you loose them and I am so sorry you also had to go through that pain. Swore we would not get another one then realised we could not live happily without a four legged companion. Will never get over or forget  Nelson who fitted into our lives so well. Georgie has taken away the emptiness we felt every day and has provided us with many laughs and it is so rewarding seeing her develop . I am not ashamed to admit my love for animals and when ever I hear that some one has lost their companion I get lump in my throat. I wish you luck when you make your decision to give another dog or dogs what will obviously from the way you talk about them be a great home. :goodjob2:

Here they hammer the heated side mirrors as a sales point, wish the front window was heated too. :)

I can think it would be in Sweden, luckily it doesn't get as cold here. If the mercury drops below 5 degrees here then South Africa grinds to a standstill :D

+We have had 28c and clear skies the last week.

+I hit 19600km this week, or 15000km since it was last serviced with just as much to go until the next scheduled service. Thought the car deserved some new oil. Very good access to both drain bolt and filter, though I could use some bigger stone slabs next time, the I30 is a lot lower when crawling under than it looks like.

Castrol Magnatec C3 long life oil looks just as bad as most oils after 15000km. Replaced with Helix Ultra Pro AM-L(C3 5w30). Next service should be October, and is a stamp-service.

Hush! One should always blame the rocks when the opportunity arises!

@CraigB Yeah, it better, I had to buy the new oil from Germany. Regardless, it should be very happy not having to wait until 30k km for the change.

The bad.....i30

Lower the rear windows only  and there us a lot if buffering which is unbearable ( don't know if my front window small wind deflectors are to blame)

Fuel filter change takes too long as requires removal of air filter box. Silly positioning.

Difficult to find a way to find ways to get a wire from the engine bay to cabin.

Fuel filling to top the last 5 litres takes forever

The good

Easy to remove top engine cover

Easy to change oil filter and easy location

Doesn't rust (mines never had a polish in 8 years) carported

Great handling (once I misjudged a corner at 90kph, fishtailed badly to a stop, responded well to opposite steering lock)

Gearbox, 315,000km and no issues

Engine 315,000 km and no oil burning but turbo blew at 298,000

Full size spare, rare nowadays

Supplied USB stick for music, nice touch

Tony
