Hi guys,
My family and I have just returned from a holiday to Coffs Harbour. The weather was not so good, rain and cooler conditions but this didn't stop us having a good time. For those not familiar with the region, Coffs Harbour is a beautiful coastal city in the upper north of New South Wales.
One of the high lights of our trip was meeting up with a fellow i30 club member, Davet. We organized to meet on the afternoon of the Saturday we arrived, Nov 15th. We arranged to met at a local watering hole, the Hoey Moey.We took a couple of photos for the forum, than got down to the series matter at hand, namely knocking back a coldie or two. We had a good chin wag about our i30's and other topics. Dave is originally from Canberra so we have a bit in common. After about an hour, we parted ways. Dave was driving down to south coast the next day, and we were keen to rest up after our long, but pleasurable trip.
I have included some photos. That Dave in the White shirt in front of my Grey i30 and I am the ugly  one in blue. the other photo shows my to sons, Jordan 11, and Thomas 9.

I have included some photos from our recent trip to Coffs. There are shots of local tourist attractions like the big Banana, as well as shots of the coast line, jetty and Marina. I also included a couple of shots from the mountain regions above Coffs around Dorrigo and Belengin. Funny thing, this pesty little grey car kept getting in the shots
This is a beautiful part of the country and a favourite holiday destination of mine

That pesty little grey car just kept getting in the way each time I went to take a photo  Attention seeker
I do apologise that I have spread these pics over so many pages, I haven't got the knack of posting pics yet and keep going over maximum size limit :'(

Hi Cam,
It took us 10 hours on the way up. That was taking it easy with plenty of stops. Got to when you have young kids. It took just 9 1/4 hours on the way back. We travelled during the evening and stopped less plus pushed the speed limit a bit, keen to get home.

But definitely worth it by the looks of those photos

The kids look like they enjoyed themselves.

I swear (well, I didn't... but irrelevant), Hyundai should hire us (well, you guys - I don't have mine yet) to advertise for them. "Buy a Hyundai i30, it's made for Aussie roads..." <insert Pic of Eyma's i30 in front of the Big Banana)

Hey Eye, the Big Bannana is just a landmark of Coffs harbour, the Area has always been well known for growing bannana's.

Jeez aren't I the ugly one!  Coldies were good though.

Oz is big on the "Big xxxx' as tourist gateways in regional areas.  Coffs is a banana growing area and has the "Big Banana", Goulburn is a sheep area and has the "Big Merino". Ballina has the "Big Prawn".  There's somewhere in Queensland that has the "Big Pineapple (ouch?)".

I don't mind you crushing the Union Jack on a daily basis at all Eyma

As for cricket, wots that???
In Scotland the national sport is entering major sporting events, getting knocked out in the qualification stages, then spending the rest of the tournament supporting any team playing against England and making new international friends over a few "coldies" in the process.

I hope I haven't offended any of our English friends, as far as I am concerned it is actually a healthy rivalry rather than the hatred which is often portrayed

Back on topic then, great pix and I look forward to one day perhaps being able to post a meeting amongst UK members!

Eye30.. We had a nasty hurricane that hit north Queensland a year or two ago called "larry" and it destroyed so much of the Banana crop that the prices of Bananas more than tripled for nearly a year  from $2 or $3 per Kilo to more than $10 (fortunately the've come back down now)
