I'm still confused.
Carsales list i40 Active manual sedans and I think (but not sure) maybe even petrol engined i40 sedans.
Hyundai have updated their website now and it definitely lists diesel only sedans and automatic only.
Specifications for a manual aren't provided and in the pricing area of the website, they only give pricing for automatics.
I've physically checked out two Hyundai dealerships and they only have Active diesel automatics in stock.
What's going on? Do you think Carsales have got it wrong?

I'm guessing they are struggling for stock at this early stage.. I'm sure the early press release / reviews documented manual and auto / petrol and diesel.. It is not the first time they have launched the higher models first (they did it with the i45 too)  :winker:

Fairy Nuff.
Some of the stuff I read prior to release said the sedan was diesel only and a petrol wouldn't be released because it would clash with the (petrol only) i45, whereas there was a gap in the market not having a diesel mid-size sedan.
If they are having issues getting stock, I would have thought the website would still have reflected what could be ordered.
And searching W.A. on carsales, on a related topic, there are diesel Elite i30's at $29990 drive away plus an extra $1000 off in lieu of the Myer gift card that H/A is offering as a part of their current promotion which ends on August 31st, so $28990 drive away.
But the funny thing is, they are showing the same price for both auto & manual instead of the usual $2000 difference.

Must drive a new i30.. I drove Trish's FD CW to Launceston and back today and although I was more than happy with way the 2.0 performed up hills and passing etc .. and how it steered, I have been spoiled by the Hybrid :-[

I really noticed the extra noise and harsher ride  (I'm guessing the new GD model, especially the Diesel would be a lot closer to what I have come to expect)

I drove an Active auto diesel the other day.
I love the six speed auto with sequential shift - I could get used to that if I couldn't get a manual.
The salesman was telling me how quiet they are but to be honest, at idle I thought the diesel engine was louder than mine.
However, once underway it became quiet and it really was a very nice car to drive.
I'd have to have longer to play with the three different settings on the steering to really feel the difference but there was very little not to like overall.
I agree, you should go and drive one - I'd love to know your thoughts.
I still prefer the Active front end treatment over the Elite/Premium but of course, I prefer the latter inside.
But having said that, when driving the Active you don't feel like you're driving a low-level car at all. It's nicely equipped and a step up from the old model in terms of standard equipment.
Probably a bit more scope too for a little personalising, with things such as wheels as they come standard with steel rims.
