I have a couple of roads engineers on my division committee. I must ask them what advances in materials and techniques there might be to withstand the harsh rugged man-building Aussie climate.

However, regardless of any promising innovations, I suspect the answer will be that economics will always determine the outcome.

Rained all morning here. Was lovely. Now the sun is out and it's a giant sauna no one can escape from

There's some big black clouds heading over....hopefully they'll cool things off again. We have rain predicted for the next 5 days straight.

24C on the NSW Far South Coast and some heavy showers., 13 mm this morning. Some real heavy rain on the way down from NSW North Coast, 100mm tomorrow they reckon. Bugger and I have to drive 250km to Sydney tomorrow, to pick up the 'Boss.' Hope the i30 windscreen wipers work real good !

It's been sort of discussed, but we have our mother's keeping us here, but not indefinitely. Most likely LNC if anywhere, used to stay @ Riverside, work @ Legana & jog at Green's beach after work. No more jogging for me now though.

My home town.. it is pretty nice (nearly as nice as were we live) It gets a bit colder in the winter and hotter in the summer in Launceston
