Is this first service just to make sure nothing has fallen off, do they adjust or replace anything on this service.

Just a check over - nothing much done at all in my experience.

Less than nothing in some cases.  :whistler:

We have heard of cars not moving from the car park and don't think our UK members even have to take their cars in for an inspection  :undecided:

If it makes you feel better, then do it. Otherwise IMO, it's waste of time and money.

Here's the intervals for DK:

GD i30 (Petrol) 30.000 km / 24 months

GD i30 (Diesel) 30.000 km / 24 months

FD i30 (Petrol) 20.000 km / 12 months

FD i30 (Diesel) 30.000 km / 12 months (2007 --> 2009 20.000 km / 12 months)

We have no 1500 or 7500 km service, and I don't think it's necessary.

Was a waste of a day for me.
40km round trip and the wife picked me up and dropped me off so we travelled 120km all up that day just for someone to do nothing. They didn't even stamp the log book until I asked them to...

Interesting to note that no 1500km or 7500 km 'service' or check, in Denmark.

Is it the same in UK ?

Well, they offer a free of charge annual "health check" within the 5 year warranty period where they check tyrepressure, fluids, lights and so on. No parts changed, unless a bulb is blown or similar.

Don't think they offer that over here, although the health check would/should be part of the service regime  :whistler:

Today I got a postcard from my dealer offering a FREE 22 point winter check.

May ring them and ask if it is for my old or new car.

It should, but as there's 30.000 / 2 year between the services it would a nice help for those who can't do these check themselves.

In past years I often got an end of warranty inspection from the NRMA (National Roads and Motorists Association, like RAC, AA.)    Say you have the Hyundai 5 year warranty, at say 4 years 9 months get an independent inspection of your vehicle from say the NRMA.  Any warrantable faults, get it fixed by the Dealer before the 5 years is up.  I would rather pay a few dollars for that independent inspection than have the inspection done by the Delaer, they would probably find no faults, if you know what I mean, because they have to pay for the rectification.
