My i30 (2011)'s right rear door won't lock or unlock electrically (remotely). I have to wait til the dealer's service department is open after the Christmas break before I can get it looked at. Just wondering if anyone here has had these fail.

I can lock and unlock it manually, though.

First I've heard of it.
Guess you're just lucky.  :undecided:

But, please let's know how you get on with the fix.

We had a dodgy set in our Santa Fe. They replaced them without any problems. Ours would unlock but two of them wouldn't lock. It affected halo and remote locking.

I remember someone claiming to have an i30 lemon mentioning multiple replacements for door locks but of course, I can't find it. However, that is the only other one, so it is rare.

not long after we bought the wife's cw the drivers door lock actuator died, but the problem is that the drivers door controls the other door locks,so none of them worked.   the dealers mechanic found the fault and replaced the drivers doorlock actuator.  :goodjob2: :goodjob:

Is that related to the flux capacitor?  :undecided:

Actuator failure is another recurring Hyundai issue unfortunately .. Has been reported multiple times on here and happens in other Hyundais as Aaron says including the veloster. Fortunately it is a warranty fix ...

One of the symptoms is that when I go around a corner then accelerate I hear this rapid clicking from the right rear, like something is swinging around and hitting the bodywork. We think that it's the door lock cycling, perhaps due to loose cabling or something moving about.

Something to tell the service people when it's booked in.

Well, it was repaired. The RO had "replace faulty actuator" on the work to be done. And yes, warranty job. They had to order the parts in which suggested to me that this particular dealer doesn't see the problem that much.

Anyway, it's all working fine. Hopefully if this is the level of warranty work that'll need to be done to it I'll be happy.

Yes, I discovered this one. $500 for 2 doors (they replaced the wrong one the first time ) 4 months before I got rid of it. Grr!

You can turn it off or adjust the speed at which it operates.
I think it's in the trip computer scrolling bit too.

Doesn't bother me either way......I only drive during the daytime so I'm not too worried about safety and if it's going to wear the actuators (sp?) out earlier having it on I'd rather turn it off. Those things are expensive :(

My daughter does a lot of driving on her own, I feel better knowing the doors are locked when driving in the city. Car jacking & assaults do happen here.  :fum:

Yeah, scary :( If I was driving on my own and at all worried about it I figure I can hit the lock button at those times. No one would be game enough to jump in with my other half I don't imagine :P

Don't bet on it. Drug crazed loonies don't give a stuff about that sort of thing.

And car jackings can happen any time.

It's not a big deal to get HALO activated if it isn't already. And it doesn't wear out the actuators prematurely. No more than manually locking the doors via the button on the driver's door.

As for manually locking them if threatened I'd bet your balls that the guy would be in the car and threatening you before you had a chance to react.

That might be technically a bit difficult, actually.  :whistler:

 Just a little!

I didn't mean I'd lock the doors if I was under threat, just if I went somewhere at night I'd make sure I locked them before I left the house. Good to know it doesn't cause too much wear on the actuators though, I might leave it on :)
