It wasn't at the top of the priority list, but I would like to go back in the next few years to have a look and maybe take at least one of my girls with me.

Ruby, you mustn't worry about being from Yorkshire, it's not your fault that your parents failed to get into Lancashire and give you a sound heritage.
Hi RubyFinally another caravanner.. I use the i30 to tow the caravan from Denmark to Croatia every summerholiday. As both the kids are now 17 years old we are 4 adults in the car and the trunk full, the car weighs about 1800 kg and the caravan 1400 kg.3200 kg in total. We can easily do 95 on the motorway and at the inclines in the mountains in Germany, Austria and Slovenia it's 4th gear @ 2500 revs up the hills, doing 85 km/h.We can do the 3400 km trip with an average fuel consumption around 9,4 L/100 km (10,6 km/L)If your Skoda Octavia is a 2,0 Petrol you will be pleasantly surprised, but if it is a 2,0 TDI Diesel, you will find the Octavia a better towcar with the stronger 140 HP/320 Nm engine.

Your gonna love your car Ruby, I have the petrol so I am not qualified to comment in the engine and oily bits, but the inside is the same I ya gets lots of kit for the money. You'll enjoy being a club member as well, either the other members will answer any/all questions you have, or, us the search facility which will answer almost any question or query you may have ...Welcome aboardAsa
I tried it both ways. Lived in the dark side Lancashire for a while.Trust me Ruby, we got it right.
