A meat supplier to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has been suspended after tests found that it may have supplied Halal products to prisons which contained traces of non-Halal meat.

There was a company in Sydney that was claiming that their meat was Halal, they were caught out when they offered Halal pork.  No seriously, they did.

When I was on a ship in the Middle East years ago, one of the options for dinner was roast pork.  I had a hankering for some nice crackling, so I ordered it.  When in arrived it had no crackling!!  When I asked the steward where the crackling was, she said that it was "Muslim Pork" and therefore didn't have crackling.  I explained to her that Muslims don't eat pork, and I still wanted my crackling, which did then turn up.

You can't bullshit a bullshitter!!!   :whistler:

It is a fact that practically all meat we buy and consume in W.A. is Halal whether you want it or not.
I was listening to this on the radio (so it must be true) and apparently all our meat is killed that way.
I do know that we have had Muslim workers in many of our abattoirs for the past twenty years.

The bit that got me when I saw it on the news was when the said the food would be distroyed!

WTF?!?! Why???

Ok it may not be Halal and it may contain pork, but that wouldn't stop most people still eating it and enjoying it!

Correct.
If a little horse is OK, then surely a little pig must be acceptable.

I avoided that in the MEAO, didn't taste like beef or bacon.
