Hi all, I'm Rolf from chilly Northern Ireland!

I'm hoping someone may have come across this problem before..

I've just bought a 2009 i30 1.4 comfort. It has the factory fitted radio and a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth device fitted.

The Parrot seems to work fine, I can make and receive calls without problems and the radio mutes as expected. The problem is that when the call is finished and the radio is no longer in phone mute mode, the FM reception is totally crap! It's like the aerial has been unplugged, only turning the car off and on again will clear the problem and give me my radio reception back. I've updated the firmware in the Parrot device but this hasn't fixed anything.

Has anyone any ideas?

Cheers in advance for any help...

Rolf

Welcome rolfd,

Sorry can't help with your problem, except to say that it sounds like the bluetooth is not being released after the call ends and the radio is using that circuit for the fm radio aerial. Hopefully someone else will be able to assist you.  :)

Hi rolfd

I was going to suggest registering with the Parrot support forums but I see you already posted there.

Hopefully you'll get a swift answer either over there, or on here. I'm guessing that power-cycling the radio doesn't fix it, so it's definitely pointing to the CK3100 (or installation thereof) imho.

What's AM like when it comes out of mute?

If it were my system I'd be disconnecting the mute wire to see if that solves anything.

Thanks for the replies.

I emailed Parrot who suggested removing the yellow mute cable. This seems to have done the trick! Thanks Shambles for the same suggestion  :D
