I suppose Jeepers is a bit of an understatement...

I remember a bloke once who cut off his trapped leg to escape (this guy is just a lightweight)

It might have been this bloke's dear departed Dad using the same pocket knife. ;)

That was one of my biggest fears  working on the farm on your own,not as bad as this bloke but I remember many moons ago, sliping on some strainer posts laying on the ground, when crossing them(yes in highensight a dumb idea)trapped my leg fell and twisted the bottom half of my leg backwards, was a few hours before I was found, couldn't get back to the two way,no mobile coverage then where we were.

This bloke was incredibly lucky

As soon as we finished school me and 3 other mates went up to Tully for a couple months working on the banana farms. There was one guy who broke his arm from a tractor flipping over... I came close to falling off a baging tractor once ran over a few good trees in the process and then tried to cover up the scene make it look like they fell over by accident haha they were good times... We shared a tent for a month then it got washed away in cyclone Elle I think it was after that we moved into a donga I have some of the best and worst memories of my life from those days

When I worked down at a place called Waroona many years ago, we got a call to a farm where a guy had had some machinery fall on his leg and trap him, badly breaking it.
He had an artificial leg on the other side but it fell on his good one.

Must've been pretty poor machinery, if it broke.

Probably better it fell on his good leg.. You would have had a lot of trouble testing the feeling in his other leg... (and those artificial legs are expensive)  :sweating:

Yeah but at least with the artificial leg he could have just stuck it in the pipe bender or vice straightened it,welded it back up if it cracked, bit hard to repair a real one
