I have noticed we have about three or four hot little 1.0 3 cyl econmy cars selling here now, VW , Mitsu....  , Suz... , i'll have to check if that ford is in the line up. here they are more of a city car for women. but i'm sure they would be fun to drive. how much torque? also I think the Suz could possibly use the Haybusha motor that motor must be about bullit proof the things I've seen it used for, just remove one cyl from the four cyl 1.3 block & your got 1.0 3 cyl seems lodgic  just use a different air intake single throttle body.

Went to the Aussie Ford site and appears they have transitioned from 1.6 Petrol and Diesel Fiestas to 1.5 petrol only (no 1.0 Turbo mentioned)

Specifications show 1.6 motors with (old) next to them and when you click offers gives you choice of 2 x new models with 1.5 motors (but not much detail)  :undecided:

Lakes it's a pity but motorbike engines have revability which is great for bikes but there's little torque to speak of. Plenty for a bike and rider but not for a car, torque is essential.

I really hope Ford bring it to you Aussies...
And I'd urge as many people as possible to give the car a try if a smaller car is what you need.
That same engine even gets amazing feedback fitted to a Focus. The power to weight ratio difference makes it perfect for the Fiesta though and the Ford Stop / Start is seamless by the way!

I'm also looking forward to having the electrically heated windscreen this winter!  :happydance:

Why?

On occasions I drive a Ford, (patented), vehicle fitted with a heated windscreen, the elements, not easily visible with darkened glasses, show the elements. With prolonged use & also with discussions with other users, it seems to lead to headaches.
In an unheated windscreen, it is worsened by the rake of the glass, which the areas created by cooling the screen rapidly, (to toughen), are magnified, and, thus more visible.
Should your windscreen require emergency replacement, many mobile firms have no immediate access to replacement heated screens.....

Thankfully that will be their problem how they fix their heated screen.

I'd certainly want them to honour my agreement with them for the full and proper spec of the car I requested!

The Fiesta does have a very steeply raked screen in the search for aerodynamic efficiency and I must admit, if I look... I can see the tiny heating elements, but overall the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

With your eyes focused in objects in front of you, they should be unnoticeable.

I really miss a heated screen.
Unfortunately not available on Hyundai, & other Manufacturers.
Has Ford a Life Time Patent ?

They do have a patent but I'm uncertain of its longevity. It's something I really did observe with some jealousy as my Wife's Fiesta's screen quickly defrosted while I applied copious squirts of windscreen de-icer to my cars front glass (pity ALL the glass doesn't have the same function)

We had a heated screen replaced on a Company Leased Ford Mondeo, the offside never did defrost.
Living and working in an Aberdeen winter was never the same :(
Thinking about it, nor was the Summer

That reminds me of the joke

Why does a (name of car) have a heated rear window?

So you can keep your hands warm when pushing it......

Incidentally, Keith, I think you will find they are called "Lookie Lookie Men".
So called to get you to look at their mechandise, the latest seems to be throwing up in the air a piece of soft plastic, when it hits the ground, it slowly forms up into a tomato, banana or whatever. At night they throw up something that "resembles" a firework - Lookie, Lookie (at that....)

Ian's, Agentr31, signature - Look at me, Look at me :happydance:
Irrelevant I know, but he is always up to something.......

Girl's not interested in engine details Dazz, but some I know don't like cars that don't excellerate off the
lights
Did not know PK's one came with turbo, that would help torque a lot.

Are you saying Keith is buying a girl's car John?  :whistler:

Yes, I knew the 1.0 had a turbo .. Quite respectable outputs for the size (see Rusty's link)  :goodjob:
