Beer is a good food and Scotch is a good relaxant, (to alleviate stress in the water).  If you have to be in the water, that's the way to do it. :D

It's a good story, but normally fishermen have a big esky like that to put their fish catch in.  :whistler:

Reminds me of when the mates and I would go sailing(years ago now),we always strapped a survival kit to the mast of the Cat,consisting of a dozen tinnies in and esky of ice, always worked we never sank once, turned over a few times but never sank

Not when I used to go fishing, Trev. There was always an esky for the beers as well as one for the fish.

I believe there was a survivor of the Titanic that survived unexpectedly, because he hit the top shelf spirits while the ship was sinking. The excessive alcohol had some effect on his body, apparently.

One has to keep hydrated....

Beer on the way out.....fish on the way in.  Efficient...

Oh. I quite agree Terry.
My point was that if the thing kept them afloat for 24 hours it was more likely the empty fish stotage esky.
BTW. Did I hear they had gone kilometers out to sea in a boat which had just been repaired?

How else are they going to test it?

Maybe try some calmer water, closer to shore.  :P
