Speaking of Mercedes.....that reminds me of something I read some years back .....
Apparently to change a dash bulb in whatever model Mercedes it was, the whole dash had to come out.....
No idea whether it is actually true or not....
I can confirm that.
I thought that one of the hazard dash indication bulbs had "blown", I stripped the main dash out - the bulb was ok, (I haven't even replaced one bulb) traced the problem to the hazard switch which had corroded (there had been a flash thunderstorm & the roof was off) I just squirted WD40 in, & operated it a few times.
Everything then worked fine.
Took me a whole day
