Hi Australian Owners,My i30 is about 800K at the moment, I was wondering do I have to go back to the dealer who sold it to me for the 1000k service? The reason being is there is another Hyundai dealer who is much closer to where I live.
From memory there was a voucher stapled inside the cover of the service manual, and I'm fairly sure it was part of the delivery charge, so I'm guessing you will have to take it back to the same dealer. Check your service book to see if you have a voucher as well.

They checked absolutely nothing. I'm glad I wasn't paying for it. Obviously they get paid by Hyundai for that first service but they did absolutely zero to my car and when I questioned it they actually got a bit aggressive.So guess where my car is not going back to?I know there was probably not much they could do for its first service, but if they had lifted the bonnet it would have been a bonus.
...from when they got into my car to drive it through to the workshop to when they drove it out and parked it, was four minutes.They did nothing other than fill out the book. They checked absolutely nothing...
You need to use a fully synthetic for the diesel this list is official but is probably not complete...
To meet this, an oil would probably contain a majority of base oil that could be called "synthetic" but there is nothing stopping a manufacturer producing an oil to meet these specs that wasn't synthetic at all. Having said that I don't know if there are any that do.

Hi, sorry MelWA, haven't been on here for a few days. I live in the Perth hills but being in a valley it gets to sub zero in winter & of course into the 40's in summer.The car's having its 7500 km service done on Tuesday & I'm supplying the oil, so will have to get it tomorrow. I'm leaning towards Shell but not sure just which one. I would rather pay the extra for premium oil.
