A little story about speed limiters in the states.
Back in the 90's i was going to move to California, I use to spend 2 months a year over there, so on one trip I saw a advert by Stevens Transport based in Texas in the local rag doing a Drivers seminar looking for drivers, so I decided to go along and see what the company was all about, I had already been to another company and spoke to their Transport manager about applying for a driving position.
Anyway one guy in the room asked about if their vehicles had limiters fitted, he said once you pass your CDL you then do a 5 week training course with a instructor, your paid a minimum wage during this 5 weeks it wasn't much about a $150, and your semi is restricted to 65mph but when you've completed and passed the course your truck goes back into the workshop and is opened up, I thought hipee
this is the company I want to work for only problem is your away from home for 5 weeks at a time with 1 week off and no guarantee that the week your off they can get you home but the wage was up to $1650 a week
