I had a look at the other thread about this by silveri30uk then went for a browse around the Hyundai UK website and they are still claiming that the i30 Premium has the heater elements in the windscreen :eek:

From £15,200 - £17,000 on the road

As Style model, plus:

    * 17" alloy wheels
    * Automatic dimming rear view mirror
    * Climate control
    * Electric folding, wide angle door mirrors
    * Front windscreen wiper de-icer
    * Heated front seats
    * Leather seat facings
    * Rain sensor
    * Reversing sensors

If they have told you that the web has been changed to reflect the alterations then not done it I would think you could create a noise about trades description and demand to know why yours does not have the feature which they advertise as standard on a Premium model.

Another thing I noticed was that the Premium now comes with leather FACINGS in the seats, not full leather like our ones. :eek:

It strikes me that this is a measure of the success of the i30, Hyundai have gained a reputation and are now content that they can "cheapen" the model since they effectively have a waiting list for owners.  In my view though this short term gain could create a longer term damage, in my opinion the alterations made to the car since we purchased ours reduce it's appeal and would certainly be difficult to persuade me that I was getting the same level of car when I went to trade my higher specced Premium for a new one in a couple of years.  I think that the moving of the USB port to a visible place is simply horrible, Hyundai have obviously noticed that Vauxhall have got away with it and followed suit.  Things like this may only be small details but combined small things amount to a lot when the customer is parting with their hard earned.

Cheers
Brian

I agree Brian.. they spend billions on research but don't seem to bother much with owner feedback.. (Nissan appear to be good that way.. always sending out owner satisfaction questionnaires...

They could make the i30 even better if they took up some of our suggestions.. :cool:

Leather facings means full leather seats doesn't it? Part-leather facing would be like on the Style.

Apparently all Brian's seats are full leather front and back not just the facings (e.g. Bit you sit on)

I got the Czech i30 Premium and wrote to Hyundai UK in May telling how unhappy I was re: lack of heated wipers, even though the catalog, dealer and website said so. Their reply was in the UK we no longer need this item due to our "mild" winters! They also claim they have remove this on their website-obviously not! Also, they deleted solar glass in the new catalog but again, they say this item is still on the i30-how can I proof this, I ask myself.

I used to have a Coupe 1999 2.0 SE and again, leather facing is what they said. ie., back of the seat is not leather.

As regards to USB 's new position, its quite good place as you don't have to keep opening the arm rest lid. Obviously, every one is different and I can understand your personal view. I must say though the leather on the steering feels much cheaper compared to the Korean model and the finish on the leather "facing" is not as well made. Cost cutting is what they doing-But I try not to let this spoil my car. One member said I should go and make a fuss at the dealer re: lack of heated wipers. I am disappointed but I am used to it so I am going to let it go. If I go to the advertising agency, Hyundai will have an excuse or clause to say "subject to change without prior notice". Any way, it would interesting to see how many more owners will return to this issue in the near future!

My seats are all leather back and front so are not leather facings as Dazz suggested above.
USB Port would probably look better IMO if there was some sort of cover on it, however I like the fact that I can plug in my stick and leave it and nobody knows it's there, with the dash version you want to be sure you are removing it everytime to prevent break-in/theft.

I'd have preferred the usb in the armrest, but I may fit a second one in there anyway if it's easy enough, would just have to remeber not to use both at the same time. I have plenty of time to think about it 3 days gone, 53 to go.

The current UK brochure seems to have removed the heated wiper from the premium spec as far as I can see. IIRC it also says somewhere that all models come with a spolier, I'll certianly ask where it is when I collect the car  :D
