Posting on behalf of member vondy, who has the following problem.

Owns a Diesel Premium and has been having an issue with the indicated fuel consumption. Driving the car, the display shows the average consumption all the way home. Following day on start up the display is presumably showing instantaneous readout. I am told it is set not to do this but it does. How do you fix this problem.

The engine is running sweetly, although on startup, it emits light smoke. This has been reported to the dealer, who couldn't reproduce, therefore doesn't want to know. To say he's cheesed off with them is an understatement.
