You can get a non-genuine one from ECP for £13.00 if you use the discount code MOT10 at checkout:

Assuming you've already removed it to have a look, am I right in thinking the pollen filter is located behind the glove box and fairly straightforward to get to?

Yeah supercheap is OK but I go to cov parts if I'm in a rush and can't wait,or online If I'm organized and can wait for them to come

Isn't the pollen filter replacement included to the annual service? In Finland it is, with a rip off price of course.

Last year I had quite a sour discussion about it with my dealer, when they wanted to charge 76 Euros for the pollen filter when I was in for the annual service.  They weren't keen about the idea that I will replace it myself, possibly using cheap 3rd party filter. They firmly stated that if I want it to be excluded, they will not put stamp to the service book, and replacing it myself is not approved either because they can't know for sure it's been replaced using genuine part (or replaced at all). However, when I was about to march out they offered 20 Euros of discount for the pollen filter. The price must really be over-inflated if it was that easy to get such discount...

According to this (link) it is only ever inspected on a routine service (applies to the UK only).
