Hi guys,
I recently upgrade the interior (Including rear boot) to white LED lights. They look awesome.

You can find them on ebay for about $5 a pair.

How many and what type you need.....

Front (passenger & driver) Map Lights x2 of W5W or T10 (same light different name).

IF you want to do the REAR number plate it also takes x2 of the W5W too.



Dome lights: x2 31mm Festoon.

Boot light: x1 31mm Festoon.

Glovebox: x1 36mm Festoon. (Don't ask why the glovebox has the BIGGEST/BRIGHTEST light of the entire interior).


I do not have a photo of the 36mm Festoon but it is exactly the same but longer.

The process of course is VERY simple, just need a small flathead screwdriver and it is a matter of replacing the old ones. Be careful if they are ON, they will be HOT.

Also have a soft cloth or tissue to grip the old ones (for the map lights) are they are very slippery and hard to pull out of their sockets, also do NOT use pliers
or excessive force as you can break the globe!

These globes have negative and positive polarity if they do not work turn them the other way around.

Now just a small note on the different types of SMD LED.

The BRIGHTEST on the market is the 5630 so look for that on ebay it comes in all types (Festoon and W5W).

I previously had the 5050 and I also had some 3528 and other ones and they were much dimmer.




Here is a table for comparison, as you can see there is a 5730 gives off a tiny bit more lumen but I haven't been able to find them on ebay.

Thanks, Niko, great work. I replaced the dome and boot lights with LED and the effect was really good. I might do more when Sleeping Firty gets her kiss a year from now.

No glow after they switch off however very rarely I might get a dim flash or two when I switch headlights on or off. Make sure you have/or will buy the 5630s.
